Christmas calendar in piazza Duomo

Christmas calendar

There is a time of the year when young and old let themselves be carried away by fantasy, a month when magic comes to life and takes its steps in the world. It's the magic of Christmas.

Palazzo del Portici Meridionali will become an immense screen (60 meters x 20 meters high, equal to 1200 square meters), and will enchant the viewers of Piazza del Duomo from 1 to 24 December with a video-projection that will be the contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional advent Calendar.
The video will last about 6 minutes and will be projected 3 times a day every day from 18:30 onwards.

It tells the story of a reindeer, symbol of Christmas tradition, which was born in Milan and during its growth walks through the city passing some of its most iconic places, entirely reconstructed in 3D and remodeled to give them the particular and unique appearance of ice. Let's see the Duomo, Castello Sforzesco, Arco della Pace, Darsena, Torre Velasca and Torre Galfa (on which the tallest Christmas tree in Milan was built with 2000 leds).

Soundtrack will be "Baby Please Come Home" rearranged by the Musicisti Estensi orchestra. For each of the 24 calendar days within the video there will be a focus on a different musician.
There will then be 24 musicians: 10 violins, 3 violas, 4 cellos, 1 double bass, 1 flute, 1 oboe, 1 horn, 1 sax, 1 trumpet and 1 percussion.

A story therefore suitable for adults and children, who will thrill, tracing the most classic and symbolic elements of Christmas, while also containing a very important message: Growing Together.

Every success story is a path of constant adaptation, reinvention and change.

We are waiting for you.
